The arrival of winter heralds confectionary filled holidays - Christmas, New Year and Valentine’s Day. However, 70% of the world’s cocoa is produced by people who have been trafficked or enslaved. Go fair-trade with a facial that scrubs away that bitter taste left by hidden slavery in the chocolate trade.
40g ethical dark chocolate
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
3 teaspoons of oats
One thing that makes this recipe even better? Not only can you find these ingredients in your kitchen cupboards, but they make a great gourmet snack or breakfast too!
1. Melt the chocolate - either in the microwave or in a glass bowl - over a pan of water on a medium heat. Be careful not to burn it!
2. Place all the ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. No blender? Put the oats into a sealed bag and bash with a rolling pin, then mix all the ingredients in a bowl to make a paste.
3. Apply the paste to clean, dry skin and leave it on for up to 20 minutes.
4.Rise it away with warm water and pat dry.
